Happy New Year 2023! We’re proud to reflect on all the great things that the PolkaBridge project achieved last year. As we look ahead to this year, we’re confident that even more progress and success is on the horizon. Here’s to another year of making a positive impact and reaching new heights. The market is showing signs of recovery and we are continue our development steak with the returning optimism to crypto-world! Let’s see the progress that happened in the first month of 2023.

PolkaBridge Decentralized P2P Platform — Testnet 4.0

We announced the fourth and final version of the testnet on Jan 01. After this, we will work towards launching the mainnet version and improve it further in the future through persistent upgrades. This testnet was upgraded with improved user interface, mobile responsiveness, order rating and feedback, advertiser and dispute system, support for 26 FIAT currencies and different payment methods etc.

PolkaBridge “Term Of The Day!” Program

PolkaBridge has been running the “Term Of The Day!” program for a while now, which educates our Twitter and Telegram followers about the meaning of common terms used in the crypto world. This is a small endeavor but one which fits well into our grand vision about making our community members more well informed.

PolkaBridge Testnet v4.0 Launch

The v4 testnet for the PolkaBridge P2P marketplace was launched on Jan 25! You can notice the user interface improvements immediately once you visit it on https://p2p.polkabridge.org/. There’s an improved clean look and the dark mode is available. It offers a quick glance at the most essential features and users can easily find what they are looking for.

The revamped order creation section includes only the most essential and relevant parameter configuration. You can declare the nature of your order, unit price, amount to sell, time of validity for the order, payment methods and remarks.

Next, the wallet section shows the supported assets present in your connected wallet. For now, the supported assets are PolkaBridge (PBR), Tether (USDT), Ethereum (ETH), Circle USD (USDC), stablecoin DAI, Binance Coin (BNB) and Binance USD (BUSD). With time, we are planning to support more crypto-assets after a proper review process.

The leaderboard section shows the top ranking marketplace participants along with their time, followers, last activity, volume and rating metrics. You can filter by ranges and even check metrics for specific usernames, you are looking for.

PolkaBridge P2P marketplace profile section allows users to convert their “on-chain shop” into an introductory sequence about themselves, so counter parties can have a better idea of whom they are dealing with. It further allows access to a detailed transaction history and payment options configurations.

PolkaBridge 2023 Roadmap

On Jan 15, we also launched our 2023 roadmap outlining the development that we aim to pursue in this year. You are aware about the P2P marketplace in full swing at this time. But that’s not it, we will also launch the PolkaBridge Insights platform, which aims to provide a community curated resource for the community for content related to the latest happenings in the industry, tutorials, guides etc. We are also planning to launch a PolkaBridge wallet for safe and secure holdings and for providing an intuitive wallet for our users.

PolkaBridge lending platform has also been planned, which will offer lending/borrowing services so users can access credit against their holdings. PolkaBridge has had an automated market maker (AMM) since the beginning, which currently supports multi-chains. We are going to take it one step further by adding support for cross-chain swaps, meaning that you can exchange one crypto on one chain for another on another chain. Also, we will work towards another Tier 1 exchange listing on the world’s largest Binance exchange!

PolkaBridge P2P Mainnet Update

We have also announced that the PolkaBridge P2P mainnet launch will occur around Mar 2023. This will be the first production ready release on Ethereum mainnet (our testnet currently runs on Ethereum Goerli testnet) and will become our flagship project alongside the PolkaBridge AMM. This will provide the necessary boost for the future of this ambitious project and is likely to have a positive impact on the PBR value.
